General Knowledge Wheat Introduction Lesson Plans ( 3rd - 6th grade)

Purpose of the Lesson
To introduce students to the general process in which wheat grows in California.
Lesson Objectives
As a result of this lesson, students will be able to:
Draw a connection between common, staple foods and wheat productions
Identify the stages of wheat production
Identify three new terms related to wheat production

Discussion
Before playing the introduction video, ask students to share with their desk neighbors their favorite foods. Ask for a few volunteers to share favorite food to the whole class.
Then, highlight a few of the foods shared that are made from wheat and play the introduction video.
Video and Worksheet
After the conclusion of the video, students can work independently or in groups to complete both sides of the worksheet to recap the points covered
After the completion of the two sides, review the correct answers as a class.
